Through Volkswagen Connected Services, eligible VW vehicles can be instantly added to the Getaround platform without the need to install Getaround Connect hardware. The remote unlock system allows owners to share their cars without meeting renters in person.
Improved tracking
With the Volkswagen Connected Services integration, Volkswagen owners will be able to monitor their vehicle’s location and fuel levels before, during, and after rentals. Mileage will also be automatically tracked and billed appropriately.
Incentives
For a limited time, eligible Volkswagen vehicles on the Getaround platform will be charged a reduced Getaround Connect subscription rate with no additional installation fee.
How it works
When you start the listing process, confirm your Volkswagen vehicle's model, model year, and location.
Choose the option to connect your vehicle to Getaround through Volkswagen Connected Services.
You will be redirected to the myVW mobile app and asked to consent to Getaround having access to data and remote commands. Don't worry — consent and control can be revoked at any time, giving owners control over when Getaround is able to see their vehicles.
All Volkswagen internal combustion engine cars from model year 2020 and newer with a Volkswagen Car-Net® Connected Vehicle Services subscription enabled in the U.S. are eligible for this program.*
